 Length of Internship programs

Internships can last one to three months, depending on the sector and University. Student internships may be shorter in length than graduate ones.

Applying for An Internship at Geotech ICT Consulting – Uganda

The application process for our internships in Uganda can be as competitive as applying for a permanent job. Just so you know, students are encouraged to use at least three months in advance, although we may adjust deadlines, so make sure you do your research.

  • Applications with the University’s recommendation attached are addressed to the HR Manager are sent via info@geotechug.com
  • The application must have a copy of an introductory from the training institution or University.
  • Not everyone who applies gets an opportunity. Due to space and other resource constraints, the company takes a maximum of 10 candidates for the period, and those taken on must qualify in areas where Geotech ICT Consulting can offer real practical experience.
  • Student interns’ training period does not exceed three months at a time and may be less by application requirement from the interns’ institution/university.

 Internship Policy at Geotech ICT Consulting

 Management shall support an internship program designed to provide learning and growth opportunities and professional experience to students of institutions of higher learning or universities. The Internship program will assist students in reaching their educational goals by allowing them to explore and relate classroom training with exposure to the employment setting.

Induction and Placement of Interns

  1. Interns may be taken on for the internship program for three months.
  2. you will address all Applications for an internship to the HR Manager
  3. The Internship application shall include the following:
  • Letter from the University where the student is learning
  • Statement of the specific area of interest
  • Student’scontacts (telephone and email address)
  1. we process the Selection of interns for our internship on a first-come, first-serve basis.
  2. The intake for student interns shall be thrice a year: January-April, June-August, and April to June. The April-June intake is exclusively for the Law Development Centre student interns.
  3. The interns shall undergo an induction upon commencement of the induction program, where they shall learn about the institution of Parliament, its organizational structure, goals, and objectives.
  4. The interns shall be placed in departments relating to their course/area of interest to ensure maximum benefit from the internship program.

Responsibilities in the implementation of the internship program

The Human Resources Department

  1. The department shall receive all applications and screen them to ensure the following:
  2. A letter from the higher institution of learning/university is attached.
  3.   The internshipis part of the student’s course requirement program.
  4. The department shall coordinate an induction program for the interns
  5. The department shall deploy/place the interns in suitable departments.

Head of the department

  1. Provide the interns with an in-depth induction of department functions and activities and their relationship with the student intern’s role.
  2. Mentor interns by sharing knowledge, experience, and guidance on how to advance their careers.

The Supervisor

Each intern supervisor shall be responsible for the following:

  1. Supervision and coaching of interns
  2. Performance, assessment, preparing progress reports, and providing feedback on interns’ assignments.
  3. Provide the requisite feedback to the intern’s university supervisor

Interns Discipline and Grievance Handling

  1. All interns shall conduct themselves by code of conduct and ethics
  2. we handle Discipline and grievance matters relating to interns per the discipline and grievance policy.

Exit of Internship

  1.  All interns shall hand over the institution’s property to their supervisors.
  2. An internship report shall be provided to the intern as required by their higher institution of learning/university
  3. The HR department shall schedule and conduct an exit interview to obtain feedback from the intern.
